Amelia (Milly) Peel
Founder & CEO
Amelia is the CEO and founder of stable minds.
Amelia has a strong desire to support those in her community who are in need of support. Over the past 10 years, Amelia has thrown herself into helping people in need by working with different charities and organisations. However, after starting her own venture in Knutsford (My Umbrella, Me, and PTSD), which provided support to residents during lockdown, she realised she needed to establish something there permanently.
Amelia has a heart for listening to people and a real interest in hearing each individual’s unique life story. She aims to provide each client with a unique safe space where they feel truly safe to be themselves and explore what is troubling them.
Amelia is a fully qualified integrative counsellor. She adheres to an integrative approach and works with 3 different modalities - person centred, CBT and Transactional analysis. She believes that every client has the potential to succeed if given the right therapeutic conditions. Amelia also enjoys working creatively, which enables clients to explore their thoughts and feelings through a different lens.
Amelia is a member of the BACP (The British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy), and studied at The University Centre at Stockport College, completing a Diploma in Counselling. Additionally, Amelia has extensive experience helping those in need, both in her previous position at a crisis centre and more recently during her placement with Acorn recovery projects. This has given Amelia a real passion for caring for people and providing them with a space that is encouraging, supportive and non-judgemental.
Amelia is passionate about the power of being truly heard, and treating each person as a truly individual person.
